During the week of March 23, 2014, the NPS AIR team assembled at the Blue Ridge Parkway to assist the park with hazard tree backlog of work. This was an opportunity for the team, which responds to other parks after natural disasters to mitigate and stabilize tree resources, to train in a non-emergency setting. The team worked through all kinds of weather. The team consists of certified arborists from parks across the country who get together to share ideas and collaborate on highly technical tree operations. This video is a small sample of the type of work the team does.
